About

Bibliographic Design: Curated, targeted, and affordable branding — with a vintage flair — for budget-strapped libraries and the people who love them.

Design for libraries, by a librarian.

My name is Liza Palmer and I believe in speaking truth to power. I also truly believe that librarianship is coded in my DNA. All my life, I had worked in libraries (since high school, in fact!), my haven in a sometimes cold and confusing world. But it wasn’t until graduate school that I realized libraries could be my vocation. I credit libraries — and the many awesome, bold women I worked for along the way — with helping me to find myself and my calling.

I wear many other hats, though — librarianship is just one. Teaching (at The University of North Carolina Wilmington), editing (for The Moving Image, Film Matters, and Film International), and writing are all important functions for me. And now, added to that mix, graphic design, which is my creative outlet (along with knitting, of course!).

Like most librarians, I have a strong service ethic and, through Bibliographic Design, I am able to give back to libraries, to thank them for giving me my sense of self and a purpose. So if you need library kitsch for your organization — or even just for yourself — please feel free to get in touch.
